Transfer Window 4
 Posted: 1st July 2008 @ 19:41:08 by Leon
Transfer window 4 is now open and runs until 11th July. Unfortunately some people this morning took advantage of a bug in the system and were able to update their teams multiple times. This bug has now been fixed.

For those people who did abuse the bug (you know who you are!) your teams have been reverted to what they were before the transfer window and you will not be allowed to make any further changes.

You will be able to change up to 6 riders in total. Your budget allocation remains the same at £30M and any changes must remain within that allocation.

Please note that you will only have one opportunity to Save your new team selection, so dont hit the Save button until you are sure of your changes.

You can visit the Team Change section as often as you like during the Transfer Window to try out different permutations of rider/cost. There is a Reset Team button which will take you back to your original team choice should you lose track while experimenting with rider options. If you want to leave your team unchanged while you go away to think more about it, use the Back button on your browser to exit the Team Change section without saving.

Once you have hit the Save button, however, you will not be able to return later to make any further changes during this Transfer Window.

As a reminder, here are the Transfer Windows again:

Transfer Window 4: 1st July - 11th July

Transfer Window 5: 19th August - 21st August

Tranfer Window 6: 16th September - 18th September

Transfer Window 7: 7th October - 9th October

Transfer Window 3
 Posted: 3rd June 2008 @ 17:23:12 by Leon
The third of our seven transfer windows is now open (comes around so quick!), so now is the time to start thinking about which of your riders will be looking for a new job (again)!

Transfer Window Two opened this morning and closes at midnight on Thursday 5th June.

You will be able to change up to 6 riders in total. Your budget allocation remains the same at £30M and any changes must remain within that allocation.

Please note that you will only have one opportunity to Save your new team selection, so dont hit the Save button until you are sure of your changes.

Missing Teams / Points Breakdown
 Posted: 13th April 2008 @ 23:36:40 by Leon
 Hi All,

I was notified of a few missing teams from the league tables. This problem affected only a small number of people that have registered recently and has now been resolved. Those missing teams are now in the league tables.

Also, I have found a problem with the Points Breakdown and as it's late in the day, it will be unavailable until I fix it. (I do have a job you know !)

If you do spot anything that's not right - or you think your score doesn't add up etc etc, please do let me know by emailing me at support@racebikemanager.co.uk

You didn't expect it all to go smoothly did you ?

Thanks, Leon

Transfer Window 1
 Posted: 7th April 2008 @ 21:55:48 by Leon
The first of our seven transfer windows is rapidly approaching, so now is the time to start thinking about which of your riders will be looking for a new job soon!

To help make this easier this year we’ve added a Points Breakdown table under ‘My Account’ which shows you how many points each of your riders has scored in every race of the season so far.

Transfer Window One opens on Tuesday 8th April and closes at midnight on Thursday 10th April. We will be sending you a final reminder by e-mail (provided you have your account set to receive them, of course) on Monday 7th April.

You will be able to change up to 6 riders in total. Your budget allocation remains the same at £30M and any changes must remain within that allocation.

Please note that you will only have one opportunity to Save your new team selection, so don’t hit the Save button until you are sure of your changes.

You can visit the Team Change section as often as you like during the Transfer Window to try out different permutations of rider/cost. There is a Reset Team button which will take you back to your original team choice should you lose track while experimenting with rider options. Once you have hit the Save button, however, you will not be able to return later to make any further changes during this Transfer Window.

As a reminder, here are the Transfer Windows again:

Transfer Window 1: 8th April - 10th April

Transfer Window 2: 13th May - 15th May

Transfer Window 3: 3rd June - 5th June

Transfer Window 4: 1st July - 11th July

Transfer Window 5: 19th August - 21st August

Tranfer Window 6: 16th September - 18th September

Transfer Window 7: 7th October - 9th October

Bonus Stage Charity Donations
 Posted: 7th April 2008 @ 12:12:07 by Falcon 269
Just a quick reminder that to become eligible to win one of the Bonus Stage prizes, players must make a minimum donation of £5 to Riders for Health AND £5 or more to the Air Ambulance trust of their choice.

A few players have recently made contributions to one or other of these charities but not both, and therefore their names will not appear yet in the Bonus Stage table.

If you believe that you have made the necessary qualifying donations but your name is not in the Bonus Stage table, please let us know using any of our contact email addresses.

We are aware of a problem with points and (when I get home from work this evening) I will look into it !

Rest assured it will be fixed as soon as possible :o)

** Update **

We have identified the issue - and fixed it.

Please let me know by email to support@racebikemanager.co.uk if you find further problems with the points.

Points Breakdown Now Available
 Posted: 17th March 2008 @ 21:39:51 by Leon
Are you left wondering how your score adds up ?

Now you can find out for yourself by checking out the Points Breakdown section found under the My Account section.

It shows you the points scored by each of your riders in their races and whether or not your rider managed to score the bonus points by securing pole position.

Calling GreaseMonkey and Phil
 Posted: 10th March 2008 @ 13:43:04 by Falcon 269
Two players have donated to our charities but we have been unable to match their JustGiving.com donation details with our player database.

‘Greasemonkey’ and ‘phil’, please e-mail mike@racebikemanager.co.uk to identify yourselves and enable us to enter your names into the Bonus Stage league.

Special Prizes for Special Riders
 Posted: 3rd March 2008 @ 22:02:03 by Leon
As a thank you to the competitors who actively support our charities, our sponsors have generously provided RaceBikeManager 2008 with a separate prize pool to be awarded to players who donate at least £5 to Riders for Health and the same amount to the Air Ambulance trust of their choice.

To increase the fun and management challenge of RaceBikeManager 2008, we have decided to divide the season into 4 Special Prize stages.

Stage One: 23rd February to 5th May 2008 (WSB Qatar to BSB Oulton Park inclusive)

Stage Two: 6th May to 29th June 2008 (WSB Monza to BSB Mallory Park/WSB Misano inclusive)

Stage Three: 30th June to 7th September 2008 (MotoGP Germany to WSB Donington Park inclusive)

Stage Four: 8th September to 2nd November 2008 (MotoGP Indianapolis to WSB Portimao inclusive)

Each stage will be scored as a separate competition within the overall game. Prizes will be awarded to the eligible players who have accumulated the most points during the stage.

To be eligible to win one of the stage prizes a player must make the minimum contribution before the date which is detailed in the bonus stage section.

Once a player has made a donation, they will be eligible to win prizes in every stage thereafter until the end of the season.

Players who contributed to our charities prior to the start of the season are already eligible. However, players who donate on or before Thursday 13th March will also qualify for Stage One.

So, if you joined RaceBikeManager 2008 late or your team didn’t make the best of starts, you will still be in with a chance of winning a stage first prize or one of the many MotoGP, WSB and BSB team merchandise prizes we will have on offer!

Finally, all RaceBikeManager 2008 players remain eligible to win the main end of season prize, irrespective of whether or not they have donated to charity.

Fabien Foret - Points missing ?
 Posted: 24th February 2008 @ 14:46:47 by Leon
We are aware of an issue where anybody with Fabien Foret in their team, will not have been awarded the five points for his pole position.

This issue is being looked into and the points in the leage table will reflect that shortly.

*** Update ***

This issue has been resolved and the points are now correct. The league table has been updated.

www.racebikemanager.com
 Posted: 18th February 2008 @ 20:12:48 by Leon
 ** Update **

Danny, from Fantasy Riders, emailed me today to let me know the registration of the .com domain was in fact a ploy by one of their competitors to get more referrals in his own name. The redirect has been removed now.

** End Update **

It was brought to our attention today that another outfit has registered the domain http://www.racebikemanager.com and forwarded all traffic onto their site, which is of similar nature to our own.

While we think this is a bit cheeky and underhand - there isn't a huge amount we can do about it except let you guys know that it is nothing to do with us. You have to ask yourselves anyway what kind of people want to take traffic away from a site whose only aim is to raise money for charity and give you guys the chance to win some great prizes which aren't on offer at their own site.

We won't ask you to not sign up there, because even I myself am signed up to others. But let me assure you - the prizes on offer here are far better !

Just to return the favour - we have registered http://www.fantasyriders.co.uk which will bring you back to our site :o)

Team Selection - Too Much Excitement For Some?
 Posted: 5th February 2008 @ 20:41:53 by Falcon 269
Our goals this season are to have 1000 players taking part in RaceBikeManager 2008, and for each player to contribute something to Riders for Health and the Air Ambulance trust of their choice. A fiver to each would be wonderful, or more if you can afford it.

We are almost at 1000 player registrations, which is great. However, in the 24 hours since Team Selection has been active, 62 teams have been registered but only 4 players have made a donation to our charities. We can only assume that the excitement of the moment caused the other 58 to skip the charity pages but they’ll be returning to them soon. Isn’t that right, lads? Good - we thought so!

Maybe it would help to explain that we ask sponsors to donate prizes to the game, rather than give funds direct to the charities, in order to attract more players. We look to you - the players - to effectively multiply the value of those prizes by contributing voluntarily and generously to our chosen charities.

It is vital that we raise a creditable amount for the charities this year to encourage our sponsors to support us again in the future. If we fail to match their generosity in kind, they will walk and both you and the charities will lose out.

As it stands, if the ratio of donations to team registrations continues unchanged, the amount we raise will be less than half the value of the prizes on offer. It’s not difficult to imagine the harm that would do to the long term prospects of RaceBikeManager as an annual charity fundraising event.

So please don’t skip the charity donation process before you make your team selection. It’s as quick and easy as putting a tenner’s worth of fuel in your tank but it could mean the difference between life and death to someone in need.

Thanks!

Team Selection Goes Live!
 Posted: 4th February 2008 @ 21:29:29 by Falcon 269
Are you ready, race fans? RaceBikeManager 2008 team selection is now ‘live’ so log on immediately to begin choosing your riders.

Check out the RBM Racing News for the latest on rider form during the final pre-season tests and start the season-long race to be the winner of our fabulous first prize of a weekend for two at the 2009 MotoGP in Jerez, courtesy of PolePositionTravel.

Remember, you can make unlimited changes to your line up over the next couple of weeks but your team selection will be frozen at midnight on Thursday 21st February ready for first WSB race of the year that weekend in Qatar.

The first transfer window opens on 1st April and closes at midnight on Thursday 3rd April. We will be sending out reminders by Private Message and e-mail, so make sure your account is set to receive them.

Before you reach the Team Selection pages, you will be given the opportunity to make a voluntary donation to our supported charities. We hope you’ll take a few minutes to read about the great work they do and give generously to both.

Riders for Health are saving lives daily in regions where motorcycles offer the only means to get speedy medical care to those who need it.

The Air Ambulance trusts need little introduction but need constant financial support to keep them airborne. The next life they save could be yours.

Check out the Calendar!
 Posted: 17th January 2008 @ 20:45:03 by Falcon 269
Another night of keyboard action for Leon has resulted in the Calendar being fully populated with all the dates and venues for every championship covered in RaceBikeManager 2008. Nice work, Leon!

The Calendar has filters to let you view each championship series separately, a handy tool for making those time sensitive rider change decisions.

Check it out and use it wisely!
